Principal's Welcome to Tiernasligo National School

Dear Parent(s) / Guardian(s),

Tiernasligo National School is a co-educational primary school under the Catholic Patronage of the Diocese of Derry. We pride ourselves on being a fully inclusive school for all students. Our school has a focus on well-being for all students and staff. The positive atmosphere is felt on arrival at the school and in everything we do. We have a fantastic team of teachers and staff as well as student committees, so that everyone at Tiernasligo NS has a voice and is listened to.

We are located in the beautiful surroundings of Dunaff, Urris which is an area of outstanding natural beauty. We are very lucky to have such beautiful views and nature all around us. Our student population consists predominantly of families living in the area but all are welcome. We have many students whose parents and/or grandparents would have attended with us.

Tiernasligo National School currently has 3 Mainstream Classrooms and a SET Classroom. As well as impressive facilities such as a Sensory Area, Full-Size Astroturf Pitch, Indoor Sports Hall, Climbing Wall, Outdoor Soft Play Area, School Garden and ample playground space.

We invite you to visit our school. Have a look around to experience all that Tiernasligo NS has to offer for your child’s primary education.

Kind Regards,

Mr. Shane Ruane

School Principal
